Three Levers GIS API
Your boundaries, on the map and in Flow.
I host the districts and service areas relevant to your work. Staff click them on a map. Flow asks the same boundaries which area contains an address, or which one is nearest.
Click your boundaries instead of drawing a fence.
Map Records can show a hosted layer of your districts, service areas, or other boundaries. Staff select the area they mean. The map marks who falls inside, outside, or near it, then sends those records into the Flow you already use.
The layer is yours. There is no shared catalog. Each boundary set is a named service on your API key, and that same name is what Flow uses for lookups.
Look up those same boundaries without opening the map.
A Flow action takes latitude, longitude, and the service name for one of your layers. It returns the boundary that contains that point, or the nearest one, including the fields on that feature.
Use it when a record needs a district, a program area, or the closest location, and nobody is looking at a map. The map and the lookup read the same hosted boundaries.
Inputs are lat, long, and service. For nearest, the response also includes distance and direction.
Inputs:
lat = {!get_account.BillingLatitude} (47.611)
long = {!get_account.BillingLongitude} (-122.336)
service = YourOrg_ServiceName_2026
sType = near

responseCode (200) - Subscribe—choose the layers and lookup capabilities your org needs.
- Onboarding—I take in boundaries, prepare GeoJSON (including simplification if needed), and activate named
serviceentries on your key. - Configure—App Builder JSON for the map, or a Named Credential and External Service for Flow.
- Use it—click a boundary on the map, or run the lookup from Flow.
Example layers I host include voting precincts, council or legislative districts, program service areas, arts and cultural districts, national forests and parks, school attendance zones, and transportation hubs. Demo names are illustrative only.
What's included
- Hosted boundary layers — one named service per layer on your API key
- Map overlays — click-to-select in Map Records
- Flow lookups — inside or nearest against those same layers
- Support — docs, email, and phone for subscribers
Onboarding
- Boundary intake and GeoJSON preparation per layer
- Layer simplification when needed for performance
- Map JSON, or Named Credential and External Service
- Optional help wiring the first map page and Flow
Districts & reporting codes
Stamp the correct school, council, or legislative identifiers onto records for grants, mailings, and board-ready summaries—without manual spatial joins in a spreadsheet.
“Nearest” services & assets
Route people to the closest program site, transit link, or partner location; distance and direction come along when the story needs them.
Census & federal layers
Pull tract or district context from trusted public sources in a shape Flows can read—without maintaining your own copy of every geography release.
Eligibility & compliance checks
Ask containment questions against the same boundary file everyone agrees is authoritative, then let Salesforce handle the policy logic you define.
Radius pulls for maps & partners
Hand another system or experience a bounded GeoJSON slice instead of exporting your entire layer “just to be safe.”
Operational honesty
Clear errors, size guardrails, and cache transparency—so when something breaks, you’re debugging facts, not vibes.
Talk through the layers you need.
